Currently, the General Recycling facility project is in construction with anticipated completion in 2022. This project is a three-building expansion of the General Recycling Industries Inc. in Edmonton’s south side location. Since each building is constructed as a separate phase, different project teams are assigned due to nature of each building. Therefore, it was important to effectively manage contract administration.

IBI Group, the Prime Consultant on the project, utilized Onware for all three building phases. This included managing Requests for Information (RFIs) and Submittals, as well as Site Visits and Supplemental Instructions to provide visibility and tracking.
With significant volume of concrete required for the project, IBI Group and the Structural engineers also used Onware’s “Documentation” feature. Designed to store miscellaneous project documents, it is an easy-to-use and convenient way to review and track concrete test results.
Onware’s project-specific role-based security provided IBI Group the flexibility of designating General Recycling Industries Inc. as both the Owner and General Contractor, while also establishing the appropriate role-based access for each phases’ project teams.
